This month's tape is a killer soundboard from Widespread Panic at the Roxy Theater in Los Angeles, CA on November 11, 1993. The band kicks into high speed right from the start as the swirling keyboards of Pleas lead the listener right into the floating guitar of Space Wrangler. The listener is next transported around in cosmic circles only to land smack in the middle of a rockin' Henry Parsons Died, reminiscent of The Doors' Roadhouse Blues. That's the way this two tape, two set show begins and the intensity fails to let up, even for a brief moment. Every song is superbly performed with a strength and emotion that most bands fail to reach for even a moment, let alone a 180 minute show! The second set offers much of the same inspired music, including killer versions of Worried, Makes Sense To Me, and Chilly Water. Also included is a beautiful version of Pickin' up ihe Pieces and a cover of Buffalo Springfield's Mr. Soul. As if that isn't enough, Panic is joined by Trey Anastasio of Phish for an encore of Early. If you haven't picked this one up yet — what are you waiting for?
