American Idol winner Jordin Sparks originally was supposed to sing the National Anthem to open the Washington, D.C. incarnation of the third annual Green Apple Music Festival. She was forced to cancel her appearance due to illness. Her runner-up Blake Lewis took her place, delivering a beatbox rendition of America the Beautiful.
