On April 22, Stephen Marley and Bob Weir & Ratdog performed a free concert at Speedway Meadow in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The event was part of the Green Apple Music & Arts Festival, a multi-city celebration honoring Earth Day. Marley's set included material from his new album Mind Control as well as reworked renditions of his father Bob Marley's Chant Down Babylon and Buffalo Soldier. Ratdog's performance featured the band's new song Money for Gasoline, a cover of Book of Rules (which was popularized by The Heptones), and plenty of Grateful Dead favorites, including Jack Straw, Cassidy, Eyes of the World, and a pairing of Samson & Delilah with Attics of My Life. In addition, Sammy Hagar joined the group to sing Loose Lucy, and Radioactive added vocals to the freeform jam that Ratdog has taken to calling Stuff. Fortunately, photographer Mark Davidson was on hand to provide visual documentation of the experience.
