On March 2, Hot Buttered Rum continued its winter trek through Florida with a short but sweet show at The Garage Bar in St. Petersburg. The band opened with its a cappella tune Birds and The Bees before turning its attention to a cover of John Hartford's I'm Still Here. Joined by pedal steel player Roosevelt Collier of the sacred steel outfit The Lee Boys, which shared the bill, the group tackled a pair of songs by the Grateful Dead (New Speedway Boogie and Cumberland Blues) as well as Nat Keefe's Honkytonk Tequila. The evening ended with an encore pairing of Firefly and Flask, Alas!, thus keeping alive the memory of longtime fan Missy Baron. Fortunately, longtime Music Box supporter George Weiss was on hand to provide visual documentation of the experience.
