Yonder Mountain String Band's Adam Aijala and Jeff Austin at the Culture Room (February 2007)

On February 9, Yonder Mountain String Band blew into Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for the seventh show of its 2007 Cabin Fever Tour. Over the course of two slam-grass sets — which boasted more than 2 ½ hours of music — the band delivered fan favorites, such as Left Me in a Hole, Sharecropper’s Son, and Sometimes I’ve Won. The group also unleashed several extended, crazed jams, mixing them into If You’re Ever in Oklahoma and allowing them to envelope Mother’s Only Son.

The Culture Room was packed both with local fans as well as with travelers from as far away as Colorado, and many attendees were pleased with the warm, spring-like weather. After concluding the show with Goodbye Blue Sky, Jeff Austin graciously made himself available to sign autographs before Yonder Mountain String Band departed for St. Petersburg, where it will make its final stop in Florida.

Yonder Mountain String Band escaped its winter blues by beginning its tour in Texas on the 1st of February. The Cabin Fever Tour will continue through the South, and it includes stops in Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Ohio, and Missouri before finishing at Cain’s Ballroom in Oklahoma on February 25.

Yonder Mountain String Band is available from Amazon.com.
