Blind Melon
Soup
(Capitol)
First Appeared in The Music Box, October 1995, Volume 2, #9
Written by John Metzger

Blind Melon is one of those bands that just seems to be misunderstood by
everyone. Though it employs a strikingly different formula on its latest
effort Soup, the album is as good, if not better, than the group's
self-titled debut. This time around, Shannon Hoon and company add
bits of Yes and Jethro Tull to its
sound, and the result is nothing short of stupendous. Hoon continues to sing for a generation of
lost souls in the sea of life, and he continues to do it well.
