Electric Trains, the best song on this collection of carefully crafted pop tunes, was
released long before the album. The tune references Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead and has an
extremely infectious melody. Former band member Paul Carrack returns to add backing vocals to the
Beatle-esque Walk Away. Yet, despite the fact that Ridiculous is the best album that Squeeze has
released in years, somehow long-time collaborators Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook managed to fill
the remainder of the disc with mildly entertaining tracks that fall short of making any type of
lasting impression. ![]()
