In essence, Insomniac is a companion to Green Day's breakthrough Dookie. There are 14 songs here, all
of which are performed at rapid speed for a total of 32 minutes of music. In other words, Green Day stayed with the successful formula that
it used before, and consequently this album adds nothing new to its repertoire. It's just the same disillusionment and 3-chord songs that put the Sex Pistols
and The Clash on the map nearly 20 years ago. Green Day brought it all back into focus, but it seems content just to
leave it there. ![]()
